Frequently Asked Questions Q: How do I get my free solar analysis? A: Call 340-719-5500 or email steve@allroundersystems.com Q: How do “thin film” panels differ from crystalline? A: “Thin film” has been recognized by Time Magazine (June 2008) and others as the superior solar technology. This is especially so in hotter climates as traditional crystalline (mono or poly) tend to become less effective in temperatures above 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius). Whereas thin-film does not begin to see this phenomenon until 100 degrees Fahrenheit. (38 degrees Celsius) Uni-Solar® thin film panels are also effective at capturing energy from different spectrums of light, including those available on low light days. In addition, thin film products cost less and are easier to install. Q: Why buy now – shouldn’t I wait for lower pricing? A: Unlike microchips and computers, the cost per watt of solar systems has not been falling as has been predicted. This is the result of a soaring demand and also a shortage of silica and other specialized materials required to make solar panels. Promises of a miracle technical breakthrough have kept us all waiting and as a result we are now squeezed with wildly unpredictable energy costs which themselves are having their own impact on the current and future costs of manufacturing, transporting, and installing solar systems. Q: Who installs the system? A: All Rounder Systems works with licensed and insured roof and electrical contractors. Q: What about the warranty? A: Most PV panels carry a factory backed 25 year performance guarantee. Our recommended SMA “Sunny Boy” inverters carry a 10 year factory warranty. All other components carry warranties of varying lengths. All Rounder Systems also provides its own one year 100% parts and labor warranty. Q: Who will service the system? A: All Rounder Systems will coordinate all warranty service or you can ask a licensed electrician to service the system. Q: Do I need to be an electrical engineer to run it? A: Not at all. Our solar systems are designed to manage themselves. If you are curious to see how much electricity you are manufacturing we can provide optional monitoring systems. Q: Is this Green? A: Once installed your solar panels will provide power for decades to come without one drop of oil or one ounce of carbon. Q: How about wind turbines? A: If you are situated in a location with sufficient wind then we recommend you first explore wind turbine technology. Wind generators produce electricity at less than half the cost of current solar systems. Call us for a site evaluation. |
